FRP Marine Products Engineered for Harsh Environments
A marine environment demands materials that resist salt spray, UV and dynamic loads. The FRP marine products supplied by Tosun Tech cover FRP gratings, handrails and walkways, seawater-resistant piping, fenders and custom pultruded profiles, and geosynthetics — designed for ports, shipyards and offshore platforms. Lightweight, insulating and low-maintenance, they cut the lifecycle cost of marine corrosion. For the basic properties of the material, see the Fiber-reinforced plastic article. With Tosun, your FRP marine products are built on engineered designs and project customization.

Product Specification Comparison
All four product types can be customized by marine environment grade, load requirement and site layout. The substrate uses unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy vinyl ester resin and polyurethane systems. The table below shows typical configurations.
| Category | Gratings / Handrails | Seawater Pipe | Fenders / Profiles | Geosynthetics |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Material | Unsaturated polyester + fiberglass | Epoxy vinyl ester lining | Polyurethane + pultruded FRP | HDPE / PP composite geotextile |
| Typical Spec | Grating 25–50 mm / Rail φ50 mm | DN50 – DN1200 | Customized to dock section | Customized to slope |
| Core Advantage | Anti-slip, insulating, maintenance-free | Chloride-resistant, anti-fouling | Energy-absorbing, impact-resistant | Erosion-proof, anti-aging |
| Standard | ASTM E84 / IMO | ASTM D2996 / class rules | PIANC / project-specified | Geotextile / levee code |

Frequently Asked Questions
Can FRP gratings replace steel gratings?
Yes. FRP gratings are lighter, corrosion-resistant, insulating and anti-slip, need no anti-corrosion coating in marine environments, and usually have a lower lifecycle cost than hot-dip galvanized steel.
What media are seawater-resistant FRP pipes suitable for?
Seawater, brackish water, chloride-containing cooling water, ballast water, fire water and some weak acid/alkali drainage; chemical compatibility can be verified by concentration.
Can fenders and profiles be customized to dock dimensions?
Yes. We design fender section and layout from dock section, vessel tonnage, berthing speed and tidal range; pultruded profiles are customized to structural load.
Can you provide installation guidance or on-site supervision?
Yes. We provide installation manuals, connection details, video training, on-site guidance and supervision, and can review deck or foundation drawings in advance.
How do I get a quote?
Send product type, service environment, dimensions, load requirement and project location; we usually return a BOM and quote within 3–5 working days.
Need a Corrosion-Resistant Marine Plan?
Send deck layout, load requirement and service environment; we will return material selection, drawings and a delivery plan.
