FRP Utility Pole Series

FRP Utility Poles Engineered for Your Project

From FRP utility poles for power, to light poles, telecom poles and flag poles, Tosun Tech supplies fiberglass-reinforced plastic poles that combine light weight, high strength and minimal maintenance — built for electric, lighting, telecom and municipal applications. We help utilities and municipalities replace corrosion-prone steel, rotting wood and heavy concrete with engineered composites for longer service life, faster installation and lower lifecycle cost. For the basic properties of the material, see the Fiber-reinforced plastic article. With Tosun, your FRP utility poles are built on field-proven designs.

FRP Electric Pole

Tapered pole replaces wood, steel and concrete — light, insulating and corrosion-resistant.

FRP Light Pole

Lightweight support for roads, campuses and ports; coating-free and salt-spray resistant.

FRP Telecom Pole

Support for base stations and lines; wave-transparent, low weight, easy to deploy in mountains and islands.

FRP Flag Pole

Maintenance-free flagpole for schools, squares and municipalities; elegant, upright and rust-free.

Why Choose Our FRP Electric Poles

Tosun Tech delivers more than poles — a complete engineering partnership that lowers your risk, shortens the construction schedule and gets lines energized faster. Learn more about the company and certifications on the About Tosun Tech page. Our FRP utility poles have been running steadily in multiple projects such as Southeast Asian coastal grids.

  • Turnkey supply: poles, cross-arms, hardware and foundation parts designed and shipped together
  • Designs comply with ANSI C136, IEC and project-specified standards; customizable by wind zone and ice load
  • Within 2–3 working days of receiving span, conductor specs and wind zone, we return a structural scheme and drawings
  • Lightweight poles, man-handled by one person; helicopter sling possible for remote and island sites
  • Corrosion- and UV-resistant, maintenance-free; coastal and chemical-plant life far exceeds steel and wood

Product Specification Comparison

All four pole types can be customized by height, load and surface treatment. The pole substrate uses unsaturated polyester resin, epoxy vinyl ester resin and polyurethane systems. The table below shows typical configurations.

Category FRP Electric Pole FRP Light Pole FRP Telecom Pole FRP Flag Pole
Material Epoxy vinyl ester resin (heavy corrosion protection) Unsaturated polyester resin + polyurethane foam core Unsaturated polyester resin (low dielectric) Polyurethane + gelcoat surface layer
Typical Height 6 m – 18 m 3 m – 12 m 9 m – 30 m 8 m – 20 m
Core Advantage Insulating, corrosion-resistant Coating-free, lightweight Wave-transparent, low weight Upright, rust-free
Standard ANSI C136 Road lighting code IEC telecom towers Municipal landscape requirements

Typical Application Scenarios

FRP electric utility pole on a coastal distribution grid
Power distribution & transmission networks

Resists salt spray and humidity, cutting replacement frequency and outage risk.

FRP street light pole in a coastal park
Road & campus lighting

Coating-free, corrosion-resistant; ideal for coastal and high-humidity environments.

FRP telecom and surveillance pole on remote terrain
Telecom base stations & lines

Wave-transparent and lightweight for fast deployment in mountains, islands and urban roads; also serves as surveillance/monitoring poles — wind- and corrosion-resistant, supporting 7×24 stable operation of monitoring equipment.

FRP flag pole at a municipal square
Municipal squares & campuses

Maintenance-free, upright and elegant; keeps its looks for years.

Reference Projects

Below are real engineering cases using Tosun FRP utility poles.

Southeast Asia coastal grid FRP electric pole upgrade
Southeast Asia coastal grid upgrade

Supplied 320 FRP electric poles; installation time cut 40% versus concrete; zero corrosion-related replacement in the first five years.

Island telecom deployment using FRP communication poles
Island telecom pole deployment

FRP telecom poles helicopter-slung onto the island; the wave-transparent property does not affect base-station signal coverage.

Global Delivery & Field Support

We ship FRP utility poles and the full pole range worldwide, with support at every stage: feasibility review, structure layout, equipment delivery, installation supervision, commissioning and operator training. Whether you are building a coastal grid, campus lighting, a telecom base station or a municipal flag pole, our team can be on site to ensure the system runs as designed. Frequently Asked Questions

How do I select FRP electric poles for my span and load?

We calculate wind load, conductor tension, ice load and safety factor per local standards and terrain class. Send span, conductor specs and wind zone, and we return pole diameter, wall thickness and embedment drawings.

Is FRP stronger than steel or wood poles?

FRP has a higher specific strength than steel — carrying similar loads at much lower weight. It is also insulating and corrosion-resistant, so it is preferred in coastal, chemical-plant and high-humidity environments.

Can light poles, telecom poles and flag poles also be customized?

Yes. All four pole types support customization of height, cross-section, surface color and accessories (cross-arms, luminaire brackets, ladders, flag-rope fittings).

Can you support installation or on-site supervision?

Yes. We provide installation manuals, training videos and on-site supervision, and can review the contractor’s construction plan in advance.

How do I get a quote?

Send pole type, quantity, height, load case and applicable standard; we usually return a BOM and quote within 2–3 working days.
